A very dwarf in size Shimpaku juniper bonsai tree crafted with decorative rock and specially grown fern moss for anyone, especially those who wishes to for his/her first bonsai tree. Although trained in a small pot, this tree has big aspirations and all the traits and beauty of it's full-sized siblings. This juniper tree has fresh green needles throughout the year and requires only minimal care.
Other than the Japanese juniper, the Shimpaku juniper is originated in the Far East countries like China, Japan and Korea. Its evergreen feature shows the intrinsic beauty of nature. Unlike other mass produced products provided by some nurseries, we DO NOT stick a tree into a bonsai pot and call it bonsai. We select only the most full and healthy trees, and shape and nurture them to reach a weathered and mature appearance and style, and then we transfer them to the selected pots that matches the trees. They are a labor of love and a treasure sure to bring you many years of enjoyment.
Comes with a care instruction sheet, a fund reading short essay titled "The Little Myth of Miniature Bonsai" - copyrighted, organic foods, glass humidity tray, and a mini pair of tweezers or scissors.

This is a product of Nature's Highlight, and has a company UPC code. Upon receiving the product, we urge all customers to check the product source, contents, and its documentation for the authenticity of the product. If you believe you receive a fraudulent product, please report to us or Amazon immediately. Happy shopping!

This black pine is believed to be over 100 years old. It is part of a collection I aquired from the daughter of Mr. Mysuki an avid bonsai master. He had imported it from Japan many years ago and worked on its development for about 40 years. I have had it for 14 years and continued with its development to the present. Two years ago I had Kathy Shaner, world reknowned bonsai master and teacher re-design it into a more semi-upright style. She mentioned that it may have been collected in the mountains in Japan, from the looks of it and its apparent age. The photos are not the greatest to show off this bonsai's beauty and form, but I am not a professional photographer. A couple of the photo's show the exposed roots in more detail and a top view gives you an idea of its complex branching. If you look closely you can see some small pine cones. As you know the needles of black pine are extremly long, but these are about 2" maximum due to constant needle removal and the age of the bonsai. There are several areas, such as the roots and some of the major trunk that have shari of sorts. The dimensions are 15" tall and 30" long and approx. 24" wide. It is planted in a 12" round unglazed bonsai pot, in a mix of akadama and kanuma. The trunk is over 3" not counting the nebari. If you have any questions or would like other photo's taken, please contact me and I will be happy to assist

The Japanese Juniper is a hardy evergreen, found in temperate regions of the world. Junipers generally have a naturally flowing or "cascading" shape of long, trailing branches, and can be trained into many amazing Bonsai shapes. The branches usually respond well to wiring and reshaping.

As an indoor bonsai, the Japanese Juniper should be in a very bright, but cool location. A south, west or east window is ideal. For best growth temperatures should not exceed 70 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time. 60 to 70 degrees is ideal.

If the air is dry in your home grow the bonsai on a humidity tray or mist once or twice daily. The plant itself should be kept evenly moist, but not wet or dry. The living moss should be misted daily.

Japanese Juniper Bonsai Starter Tree is growing in a 4" pot. It stands 6-7" high including the pot. The trunk is about 1/4" in diameter. Similar to the first picture.

Proper name: Juniper procumbens nana
